Still carrying the same two trims as last year, the Mazda3 comes in the ‘i’ or ‘s’ trim levels. The Mazda3 i is equipped with a 2.0-liter inline-4 and is rated at 148 hp while the Mazda3 s gets a power surged 2.5-liter MZR inline-4 which is rated at 167 horsepower and 168 pound-feet of torque — a bump of 11 hp and 18 lb-ft over the former 2.3-liter mill. The ‘i’ comes standard with a five speed manual, while the ‘s’ comes with a six-speed manual transmission. Both trims have an optional five-speed automatic. The redesigned interior and amenities bring the Mazda3 a more luxurious and refreshing touch. Controls and Instrument clusters are designed with the driver in mind and are more convenient for use.
