AirCheckTexas Drive a Clean Machine Program
The AirCheckTexas Drive a Clean Machine Program is designed to help vehicle owners comply with vehicle emissions standards. It targets the highest polluting vehicles by offering financial incentives to remove them from the roadways, and allows citizens to contribute to the regional air quality solution.
Owners can qualify for up to $3500 towards replacing their current vehicle!
What vehicles are eligible for replacement?
- Residents of the Dallas-Fort Worth non-attainment counties (Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, and Tarrant)
- Vehicle must currently be registered in a participating county and has been for at least 12 months prior to application
- Vehicle must have passed a DPS safety and emissions inspection within 15 months of application
- Drivable and gasoline-powered
- Failed an emissions test within 30 days of application
- Or if the vehicle is at least 10 years old or older and meets the first 4 requirements, then it does not have to fail an emissions test to qualify for replacement assistance!

Over 8 in household- Add $11,220 for each additional member!
If you meet the above requirements, the following vehicle-replacement assistance will be provided:
$3,500 for hybrid, current or previous model year
$3,000 for a car, current or previous 3 model years
$3,000 for a truck current or previous 2 model years
Replacement vehicle requirements:
Federal Emissions Standards Tier 2, Bin 5 or cleaner
10,000 pounds or less
Cost less than $25,000 before tax, title and license

Note: The value of the replacement vehicle may affect eligibility requirements and/or benefits for financial assistance programs, such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.
